Roger Dunnett
Roger enjoys helping business start-ups and developing existing businesses to their full potential. He also thrives (together with the assistance of Andy) in the development of our Businesses Getting Results workshops which are now held quarterly for our more dynamic and pro-active clients.
Roger was born near Birmingham and attended school at King Edward’s School there. Roger then qualified with a small practice in Birmingham before joining an international firm of accountants in 1974, eventually moving on from this international firm in 1979.
Roger then took time out of the profession and worked as a computer salesman for Hartley Computers (later Star computers) and was involved in marketing computers to the accountancy profession. After 2 years in Birmingham, Roger was sent to Scotland to convert Scottish accountants and educate them about the benefits of computerisation. What this means is that Roger has not just been an accountant all his life – so he can relate to small businesses and the sales, training, and people challenges you face.
In 1984 following the sale and successful installation to Richard Walker of a computer system, Roger accepted the invitation to join Richard in the accounting practice and after a year, Walker Dunnett was born. Since then the practice has grown by absorbing other firms and we have added a Financial Services arm in Carnoustie.
Roger is married to Liz and has two daughters Holly and Linsay. Three female cats complete the household.
Roger has varied interests including supporting St Johnstone and Aston Villa, and hillwalking; and he has been told he is too preoccupied with Sudoku.
